The POP Montreal Music Festival is back with free shows, film screenings and art exhibits

Still reeling from the festivities of Osheaga, ÎleSoniq and LASSO, Montreal is about to buzz once again with the return of POP Montreal. The music festival has officially made its return to 514 with numerous performances featuring a diverse selection of artists, film screenings, art exhibits and workshops.

The festival runs from September 28 to October 2 with a lineup of over 400 names including Allison Russell, The Linda Lindas, Maky Lavender, Cymande, Bran Van 3000 and Bibi Club, to name a few.

The acclaimed cultural event is now entering its 20th year as a permanent fixture on the Montreal festival map, offering festival-goers a dynamic introduction to the next generation of local and international talent.

Performances, screenings and round tables will take place in various venues across Montreal, including Rialto Hall, Le Belmont, Théâtre Fairmount, La Sala Rossa and L’Entropôt77.

There are also many free shows and workshops, such as POP Reads! and Setlists. Plus, you can catch Thanya Iyer, River, Molio Holi, and Madine Altounji for free on September 29.

POP Montreal is also bringing back Puces POP, a showcase of artwork and wares from artisans in the community, including homewares, body care, clothing, gourmet snacks and handcrafted jewelry.
